Responsibilities:
- Provide a strong Catholic Christian witness for students, not only supporting the Catholic Church's teachings, but living them with joy and enthusiasm.
- Partnering with parents in the education of their children.
- Form students in virtue, love for learning, and in services that gives them joy, confidence, and wisdom for life
- Nurture the whole child: spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically.
- Design a curriculum in line with the Diocese of Nashville Curriculum Guide vertically aligned with elementary grades and plan lessons that are engaging, deepen understanding and critical thinking, and are integrated with technology, using the textbook series and other resources provided by the school.
- Art Teacher:
*Responsible for teaching art classes (PreK4, K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7/8th)
PreK-K: 30 minute class periods
1-8: 45 minute class periods
*Teach Curriculum of the Diocese of Nashville over the course of the year
*Work with classroom teachers to integrate curriculum as much as possible
*Maintain classroom discipline appropriate for an art class
*Communicate any discipline problems to the homeroom teacher (and principal if needed)
*Turn in lesson plans to principal each week
*Keep art room organized and clean
*Keep art supplies organized
*Request additional supplies within art budget
*Coordinate art lessons to assist with school events as needed (i.e. Christmas Pageant, Grandparents Day table decorations, Legacy Club class projects, etc.)
*Display art work in hallways - Other duties may be added by the principal
- Strong Classroom Management Skills
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Technology skills and ability to integrate technology into the instructional experiences
- Active Catholic
- Some teaching experience
- Degree in Art or Education
