Elementary School Teacher
Description
Saint Patrick School in McEwen, Tennessee, serving 160 students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, seeks an experienced, innovative, and passionate elementary grade teacher who is enthusiastic in witnessing to and passing on the Catholic faith to the next generation. This person should be willing to work hard to bring the Gospel and learning to life and to collaborate with our students’ parents, recognizing them as the most important educators in their child’s life. The ideal candidate would also be a contributing collaborator among highly qualified colleagues in a supportive school environment.
 

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide a strong Catholic Christian witness for students, not only supporting the Catholic Church's teachings, but living them with joy and enthusiasm.
- Form students in virtue, love for learning, and in the spiritual and corporal Works of Mercy that gives them joy, confidence, and wisdom for life
- Nurture the whole child: spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, physically.
- Design a curriculum in line with the Diocese of Nashville Curriculum Guide vertically aligned with elementary grades and plan lessons that are engaging, deepen understanding and critical thinking, and are integrated with technology.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and partner with parents to communicate student successes and areas of growth.
- Faculty members model their Catholic faith in word and action, seek meaningful professional growth opportunities, and are life-long learners. As such, faculty members are passionate about what they do, the students they teach and mentor, and the school community.


Requirements
1. Witness of Christ Jesus striving for holiness.
2. Minimum of 1 year teaching.
3. Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Elementary Education).
4. Valid TN Teaching License with Elementary Education endorsement or with a clear plan to achieve this licensure within two years.
5. Experience with differentiated instruction.
6. Strong Classroom Management Skills.
7. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
8. Technology skills and ability to integrate technology into instruction.


Preferred
1. Active Catholic
2. Masters or other Advanced Degree
